PINOT GRIS L'EXCELLENCE DU TERROIR
Pinot Gris "Excellence du Terroir"
Alsace Grand Cru – Protected Designation of Origin (AOC)
Grape Variety
100% Pinot Gris
History
Since 1975, only carefully defined vineyard sites recognised by the French National Institute of Origin and Quality (INAO) have been entitled to bear the prestigious Alsace Grand Cru designation.
Only four noble grape varieties are authorised for Grand Cru wines:
-
Riesling
-
Muscat
-
Pinot Gris
-
Gewurztraminer
The Alsace Grand Cru AOC is awarded only to wines that meet exceptionally strict quality standards regarding vineyard location, natural grape ripeness, production methods, and tasting approval.
Each Alsace Grand Cru is a unique expression of its terroir, reflecting the character and identity of its exceptional vineyard.
